MINI USA, LAP Motorsports and the Pombos team up to go for the Continental Tire manufacturer championship. The season kicks off in January in Daytona. This should be a year filled with podiums and good results.
It was a great weekend on the track for the MINI JCW Team and the Pombos. It was nice to be home in our back yard helping bring attention to veterans seeking employment during the transition back to civilian life. The team brought four veterans on board as crew for the race weekend and they did a great job during the pit stop assisting Nate Norenberg and I to a 4th place finish. My brother Mathew Pombo and Derek Jones finished fifth and our third team car driven by Ramin Abdolvahabi and Tyler Stone finished 16th. It was disappointing to be so close to a podium and fall just short for MINI USA at the season finale, but it was the first time we've placed two cars in the top five. There were smiles all around and it was great to see those who served our country get chance to be part of the weekend.
Mark and many fellow veterans have experienced difficulty transitioning upon returning home from deployment. In the military you never leave a battle buddy behind, and the platform Mark has been given allows for him create awareness for a cause close to his heart, just like many other patriotic Americans. American soldiers sacrifice their freedom and risk their lives every day so all of us can live our lives and chase our dreams. It seems simple, but we Hire Heroes USA helps match veterans and their families identify jobs that match their skill set during the transition from soldier to civilian.
Mark and the MINI JCW Race Team are choosing to use the marketing platform provided to raise awareness for Hire Heroes USA, an non-profit organization. Supporting a cause we believe in is the most rewarding part. To find out more please see the link below:
